SPECIAL NEEDS CONSULTATION & COORDINATION

This program is funded by Toronto Children's Services and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services to support the delivery of quality licensed child care service to young children regardless of their exceptionality within the City of Toronto's Every Child Belongs Model.

The Special Needs Consultant uses a multi-focus approach to service which may include assisting the parent in obtaining services and resources specific to their child's needs, developing partnerships between the parent and child care program in supporting the needs of the child, and supporting the child care program staff through ongoing consultation. The Special Needs Consultant also supports the services offered to children, families and the child care program through strong community affiliations. The Special Needs Consultant maintains ongoing contacts and collaborations with related professionals, agencies, committees and the local community college.
