Our BEST Ambassadors
Remember those days when you went to an afterschool program and met a friend that you had for the rest of your life? Or that leader/coach/mentor who encouraged you to do your best and because of them you felt special. Now you can help provide that experience for another child.
If you remember what a fun and positive environment a place such as the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough was like for you, then maybe it’s time you became an Our BEST Ambassador.
The Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough Ambassadors serve as champions for Our BEST, the Building East Scarborough Together Campaign.
Our BEST Ambassadors are either a current or former Scarborough/GTA resident/native who understands the barriers and struggles of families, children and youth. In addition, Ambassadors may have attended the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough or participated in similar programs and recognize the importance of places and programs like the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough in the community.
To find out more information, including how to support Our BEST, please contact Judene Stewart, Assistant Project Coordinator at 416- 281-0262 ext. 299 or jstewart@esbgc.org.

Championing the cause
David Soknacki
The Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough has been supporting the healthy development of children, youth, and their families in the East Scarborough community for over 50 years. The impact of this work is positive and far reaching. David Soknacki knows this. David is a former City of Toronto budget chief and councillor but, more importantly, a member of the East Scarborough community.
He has participated in events at the Boys & Girls Club for many years and understands the work that we do. David has seen the growth in this community, how the Club has contributed to that, and considers this of such value that he has donated his entire councillor’s pension – $30,000 – to the Club.
David has requested that his donation go towards the Building East Scarborough Together Campaign to insure our building expansion is completed, and the Club is transformed into one of the neighbourhood’s key community hubs. This vision will mean that the Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough can expand the programming and services we bring to the community thus supporting the children, youth, and families to become their very BEST.
Be a part of the Building East Scarborough Together Campaign by donating to this worthy cause and putting your BEST foot forward to support the East Scarborough community and all of its potential!
