We will be celebrating the Festival of Lights
December 2-6, 2013
The Festival of Lights was born out of the Club’s Anti-Discrimination/Harassment Policy. The Club chose to educate our community; staff, children, youth, families, student interns, and volunteers; about our newly established Discrimination Free Zone and the policy components itself.
The Festival of Lights draws on the commonality within traditions and holidays during the fall season. Most of the celebrations that occur across all cultures at this time of year involve light in some way; stars, candles, lanterns, etc. But they go beyond the visual of lights, they have main principles in common; harmony, dignity, respect, diversity, and unity. It is these principles that the Club has adopted for celebration during its Festival of Lights.
